Default Just got back from ER

Cam's been having trouble the last few days.. He just started Risperdal so I thought that was it...he's woken 2 nights now screaming, he vomited yesterday and todays feeds. Today was his sisters b-day, we had a bouncer and everything and he's usually all excited but he was SO agitated all day. Like I said he threw up again. Then he said he wanted to go to bed at 5 pm, I went to take his temp and when I put the rectal thermometer in it felt like I hit a rock...He didn't have a fever. Then I put his extension tube in to give him some meds and brown stuff (I think poop) came flying out of the tube. I called the doc and they said bring him to the ER..The poor kid was impacted. They had to depact him and then they gave him an enema. You should have seen what came out and a lot of blood. They said that could be why he's been vomiting he was so backed up. The odd thing is he went yesterday and I took his temp yesterday and had no trouble with the thermometer. He's already acting a lot happier!

Wow, that must have been soo uncomfortable. It's a good thing you use a rectal thermomiter. Glad they got it all fixed up.

When CJ was like 16 months old he started vomiting - VERY ABNORMAL for him!!!! I took him to A ped who dismissed us and then straight to the ER. After an x-ray they found he too was completely full from top to bottom. Enema and a few full diapers and we were discharged. CJ had gone the day before and it had been soft- the ER doc suggested that the soft poop had gone around all the hard blocked up areas until they all just blocked him completely!!
