We at Parent-2-Parent will not provide your personal information to third party advertisers. If you have any questions or concerns that we do not answer in this Policy, please send us an email at comments@parent-2-parent.com We will notify our members when we make any significant changes to our Privacy Policy that affect the use of any personally identifiable information we collect. We will not make new use of any personally identifiable information which P2P gathered from individual members or visitors prior to any such significant change in our Privacy Policy without first obtaining the member's or visitor's consent for any new uses. We encourage you to periodically review our Privacy Policy to be sure you are familiar with the most current version. The Policy will include the most recent date in which any revision has been made. Please note that this Privacy Policy is also incorporated into The Parent-2-Parent Terms of Service.


Information that P2P collects
Parent-2-Parent gathers two basic types of information: Information provided to P2P
In order to use many of our features, tools and services, we ask you to register to become a member. During this member registration process, we will ask you for personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, birthdate, member name and password. In addition, you may choose to provide us with additional information in your profile. Parent-2-Parent uses the information it gathers only to communicate with you and to give you a better experience when visiting P2P by personalizing tools and email messages (more details below).
Information gathered by Parent-2-Parent
When you visit the P2P and interact with the services and tools that reside there, P2P may collect information on your actions. This type of information is collected from our server database. This information is only for administrative use and is primarily used to help improve our site for your use.

How information is collected and disseminated
The information collected by P2P is only for administrative uses, none of this information is shared with third party advertisers. In order to better describe how information is collected and disseminated, please carefully review the list below.

Membership registration
Many areas of Parent-2-Parent are reserved for our members who have registered with us; for example, chats, message boards and access to special services such as Private messaging. This is necessary so that we can assure the quality of its forums. Registration is free. The membership registration form currently requires you to choose a member name and password and provide Parent-2-Parent with your first name, email address, and birthdate. The form also includes optional information that you may choose to provide to us. The personally identifiable information you provide during membership registration will not be given to unaffiliated third parties. Public forums/chat rooms/message boards/message boards/bulletin boards

Throughout our various public forums such as chat rooms and forums are available to you as a registered member of Parent-2-Parent. Please remember that any information you disclose in these public forum areas becomes public information and is immediately accessible on P2P, so it is important for you to exercise discretion and appropriate caution when deciding to reveal personal information in these areas. Parent-2-Parent may decide to utilize message board content in marketing and similar activities. In those cases we often provide authorship credit by listing the author's member name. We therefore encourage you to use care in protecting your identity when you choose a member name and to keep your member name confidential.

Contests
We regularly operate Photo Contests on our forums. We typically use the winning photo in our quarterly newsletter. Full credit is given.

Links to partner and advertiser sites
Parent-2-Parent contains links to advertiser websites. We cannot be responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites, and we do not control the practices of any of our advertisers to whom we are linked. In order to participate in any advertiser supplied services and tools you may be required to provide personally identifiable information to the advertisers and partners whose tools and services you have chosen to interact with. Each advertiser and partner will request different information from you. If you have additional questions about how one of our advertisers, partners or sponsors use information about you, we urge you to contact them directly.

Information collected by Parent-2-Parent through IP address and cookies

IP Address
Your IP address is a number that is assigned by your ISP (Internet Service Provider) to your computer to identify its location. We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our website. We also sometimes use IP addresses to communicate with members and subscribers and possibly even ban those members who are not complying with our Terms of Service.

Cookies
Our site uses a feature of your browser to set a "cookie" on your computer. Cookies are small packets of information that a site's computer stores on your computer. Then our server can then read the cookies whenever you visit the our website. We use cookies to save your password so you don't have to re-enter it each time you visit our site, and to track the pages you've visited. You may modify your browser preference to provide you with choices relating to cookies. You have the choice to accept all cookies, to be notified when a cookie is set or to reject all cookies. If you choose to reject cookies you may be unable to use our forums.

Information sharing policy
Parent-2-Parent does not sell or otherwise share personally identifiable information with third parties without your consent except in the following instances: unless required by applicable law or pursuant to a court or similar order; or as deemed necessary, at our discretion, to protect the legal rights or the property of P2P, a member or third party, or to prevent personal injury. In addition, Parent-2-Parent reserves the right to allow access to its systems to third parties providing necessary technical services when such access is required

Change/modify/archive information
Parent-2-Parent provides you with the ability to access, correct or change certain information in your member profile at any time, including contact information or other information you've provided to us. However, you cannot currently change your member name with out a request to the administration. To review or modify please go to your User CP. Please be advised that Parent-2-Parent currently archives information it collects on its members.

How we protect and secure your information
Parent-2-Parent has numerous security measures in place to protect you from the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. All of your member information, as well as other sensitive areas like your Private Messages, require use of your password. We recommend that you do not share your password with anyone. Parent-2-Parent uses industry-standard tools, such as firewalls, to ensure that your information is secure and confidential.

Guidelines regarding children
Personal information about children is a concern for all of us. At Parent-2-Parent, we take the protection of children's privacy very seriously. Parent-2-Parent does not encourage participation or visitation by children. Visitors who are known to be under the age of 18 are prohibited from becoming a member.
